State Programs
SaferBoater's State Gold Card program is an enhanced boater Safety Certification Program endorsed by NASBLA and offered through individual states with the intention of promoting boater safety for all recreational boaters.
The program combines the American National Standards for boating knowledge with the national On-Water Standards for boating skills.
This is where Classroom Training & Boat-Handling Skills unite to make everyone become a Safer Boater.
Licensed SaferBoater Captains
Each SaferBoater captain is required to have a minimum of 10+ years of experience and must maintain both a USCG Master's License and Instructor/Trainer Certifications.
Regional Management
Each region is overseen by a managing instructor trainer, who screens potential instructor candidates, establishes relationships with dealers, customers, and manufacturers in their area, and upholds our rigorous training standards.

Each voucher entitles their customer to our MyNewBoat Skill & Safety Training course on their new boat with a Certified SaferBoater Instructor.

Customer Purchase Program
We offer a Customer Purchase Program for new boat owners that includes three training packages and Exclusive Financing Options. All training is on the water and administered by our Certified SaferBoater Captains, with certification for some courses. Vouchers are provided under this program.

Chief Marketing Officer
The founder of SaferBoater, Vickie Waller, recognized the urgent need for better boater education as our waterways became more crowded and complicated.
With her extensive experience in developing business software solutions and knowledge of the boating industry, she brought together a committed team of colleagues, each contributing their unique strengths to create a powerful training system, ready for expansion.
Our CTO, is the founder of Twif Marketing for the past 26 years. He is also a founding member of SaferBoater.
Robert also brings a wealth of knowledge and connections to the marine sector.
Having spent nearly 25 years in the financial software sector, Andy was one of Vickie Waller's original entrepreneurial FastStart students, a program that helped launch his career into several entrepreneurial ventures.
The mission of SaferBoater speaks directly to him because, in his own words, "I was the very person that SaferBoater is meant to help".
Having bought his first boat at 28, he had no training, no experience, and no idea what he was doing. Over time he learned, but there were a number of anxious moments during the journey.
His story is a fortunate one because the waterways in Charleston in the early 2000s were relatively clear, as compared to the waterways of today.
With the increased boat traffic, a spike in first-time boat ownership, the uptick of accidents, fatalities, and lawsuits across the United States, and the fear of ending up on YouTube or a 'BoatFail' website, Andy can't express enough how it is now more important than ever to be properly trained on how to drive a boat.
