Captain Dave Kowert started as an instructor in college and some things never change.

Dave has too many accomplishments to name so we will summarize with a few brief highlights -
Dave is the past commodore of Charleston Yacht Club and CORA, current president of The Southeastern Region of the Blue Gavel (past commodores)., certified US Sailing and BoatUS instructor, and is 100-ton master captain.
If that is not enough, he is also certified in scuba and first responder.
In his spare time, he races and runs team-building events on the water.

Active Racing Career since 1979. Owned and competitively raced 470 Class, Flying Dutchman and Vanguard Volant. Midwest Champion Volant Class

Owned S2 7.9 "Pulling Ropes" 5 Years Raced Chicago / Michigan Midwest Champion 2 years

Owned Beaneteau 35s5 "Andiamo" Raced Chicago/Indiana 1998- 2015 Moved "Andiamo" to Charleston SC in 2001 and raced competitively for 14 years. "Andiamo" has won more races than any other boat in Charleston Ocean Racing Association history with over 250 first place finishes, and numerous second and third place finishes. "Andiamo" won Charleston Race Week and has placed second and third in CRW. CORA Boat of the Year.
